BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Last week, a deputy with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office found reasons to stop a 2011 Mercedes Benz SUV at Creek Hollow Ct. and Hagerstown Dr.
The affidavit states that the SUV driven by Colby Howell, 18, of Baton Rouge, had covered tail lamps and a modified exhaust.
A traffic stop was initiated and the deputy made contact with Howell.
The deputy “observed a bag, which was labeled as THC gummies and also detected the odor of raw marijuana emitting from the vehicle,” according to the affidavit.
The affidavit states that Howell never provided a prescription for the marijuana.
A search of the vehicle driven by Howell uncovered the items listed below:
- Black canister possibly containing three magic mushrooms
- 3 THC vape cartridges
- 1 grinder and multiple plastic bags
- 1 glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue inside it
- Vape cartridges in boxes
- 1 plastic bag containing THC gummies
Howell confessed to being the owner of the marijuana.
The Baton Rouge man said the mushrooms “belonged to a friend.”
Further investigation found that Howell was engaging in the “sale of THC vape cartridges.”
The 18-year-old was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Tuesday, November 22.
Howell was charged with the crimes listed below:
- Req Tail Lamps
- Modified Exhaust
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession\Distribution Manufacturing Schedule I
- Possession Schedule I
- Possession of Marijuana
The Baton Rouge man was released from prison one day after his arrest.
