Parts of the Oregon Cascades received 18 inches of snow over the last 24 hours, and more is on the way.

People in the Portland metro area could see snow showers in the mornings as the snow level drops to around 500’. No accumulations are likely around Portland.
Temperatures in the morning will be cold enough to support snow down to low elevations, the question remains will there be any precipitation around?
Rhonda Shelby says travelers heading over the passes or driving in high-elevation spots need to be prepared. Snow can accumulate quickly and if you are not prepared, you can become stuck.
There are a few areas around town where snow might fall below 500’ at times. Places like Forest Grove, up against the coast range, could see some pooling of cold air and any precipitation that falls would like fall as snow.
