A little less than a year after SIPS Restuarant closed for good in Southwest Harbor (April 15, 2022), the owners of SIPS 2.0 announced that they would be closing for good too. They are having a "Restaurant Unload Sale" this Friday and Saturday, January 20 and 21 with everything half off. On Friday, we told you the heart-warming story of 5-year-old Brielle Hamor who had applied to the Town of Lamoine for a permit to have a unicorn in her backyard. The City of Ellsworth is seeking community members to volunteer as members of the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. The comprehensive plan is a guiding blueprint for the City that embodies the values, priorities, and future needs of the community as a whole, while also protecting its history and natural resources. The plan will cover future land use, zoning, expansion of utilities, economic development, transportation, housing, and regional coordination.

The MDI Girls dug themselves too big of a hole and despite outscoring Hermon 19-10 in the 4th Quarter, fell to the Hermon Hawks 50-43 in Hermon on Tuesday, January 24th. The MDI Boys Basketball Team jumped out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back, raining down 12 3-pointers and beat the Hermon Hawks in Hermon on Wednesday night, January 25th.
