Picking an all-time starting five for any basketball team is a difficult task. The Chicago Bulls have a plethora of great players who have left their mark on NBA history, making the job of choosing five to start even harder. But Alex Caruso has managed to do it in a surprising way by picking an all-time Bulls' starting five that you wouldn't expect.

AC's picks

Three of Caruso's picks are no-brainers and probably will not elicit much argument. For the point guard position, he chose Derrick Rose, the youngest MVP in NBA history and one of the most electrifying players the franchise has ever had. His first four seasons with the Bulls were sensational, and the city of Chicago will always remember his impact on their team, especially after he tore his ACL in 2012.

For the shooting guard position, Caruso went with Michael Jordan, perhaps the greatest player to ever play in the NBA. And at small forward, Scottie Pippen was an obvious choice.

Controversial picks

Caruso's remaining two picks may stoke some controversy. For the other forward spot, he chose DeMar DeRozan. Deebo had a spectacular first season with the Bulls, leading the franchise to its first successful season since 2015. However, his body of work with the Bulls is still relatively small, and some people may argue that other candidates, such as Dennis Rodman (15.3 rebounds per game in three seasons) or Bob Love (19.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, nine seasons) deserve the spot more.

Finally, for the center position, Caruso picked Joakim Noah. Despite being a two-time All-Star and the Defensive Player of the Year in 2014, some may question this decision since several other big men have had more success with the Bulls. Artis Gilmore (20.4 points and 11.2 rebounds in seven seasons) certainly comes to mind.
