MADISON, Wis. — Madison police arrested a man late Sunday who they said stabbed another man near Capitol Square.
Officers were called to the 100 block of West Main Street just before midnight. Police said two men got into an argument and one man stabbed the other with a knife.
Police said the suspect, a 35-year-old man, ran from the scene before officers arrived. He was found near the area, was arrested, and the weapon that police said was used in the attack was recovered.
He faces charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, felon in possession of a concealed knife, disorderly conduct while armed and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The victim, a 55-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive.
