Pitt Reaches Out to 2023 7-Footer Braden Pierce

Published

After signing a three-guard 2023 class in the early signing period, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel is now showing interest in a big from the class of 2023 in Braden Pierce.

Pierce is a 7-foot, 230-pound forward from Woodstock, Georgia who plays for IMG Academy’s Post Graduate team, the same team that produced current Panthers Jorge and Guillermo Diaz-Graham a season ago.

As reported by Pro Insight’s Andrew Slater, Pierce has recently heard from Pitt, Seton Hall, Missouri, Cincinnati, NC State, and Iowa. Utah, Indiana, Virginia, and others have also been in the mix recently. Pitt visited Pierce and watched him play back on Nov. 3 as well.

The late-bloomer is unranked on 247 Sports while On3 has him listed as the No. 147 player in the class and a three-star prospect.

As the Panthers look to return bigs John Hugley, Federiko Federiko, and the Diaz-Graham twins next season, they also will look into the potential addition of a big like Pierce in the late signing period and the transfer portal.
