Rain and snow falling Tuesday as a cold front moves through
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (Iowa's News Now) —
A cold front will bring in rain, snow, and a change in the air early this week. Ahead of the cold front, temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s Monday and early Tuesday.

As the cold front moves through rain and snow will begin to fall. Snow will begin in the northwest, where the cold front comes in sooner, with rain to the south.

Rain will change to snow through the afternoon north of Highway 20, then changeover to the south after 6 pm. Snowfall accumulation will be most likely in grassy/elevated areas at first, then could lead to slick streets in the north if it's persistent enough.

Slushy snow will fall to the south of Highway 20 for a few hours, and then wind down Tuesday night and cold air will settle in.
