Child endangering: Detroit Road
A woman was arrested for child endangering at 3:52 p.m. Nov. 5 for leaving her two children, both 2 years old, unattended in a store parking lot.
A witness called police and said the children appeared to be in distress due to the 77 degree temperature. Officers determined that the children did not need medical treatment and questioned their mother when she came out of the store.
The woman reportedly was remorseful and said she had left them inside the car because they were asleep when she arrived at the store.
Police informed her that they were able to enter her car in less than one minute and another person could have done the same. The case was forwarded to Lorain and Cuyahoga County Children’s Services since the woman resides in Cuyahoga County.
Criminal damaging: Chester Road
Police were called to Menard’s at 10:29 a.m. Nov. 7 regarding an attempted theft. Store management told police that an unknown man had damaged more than $1,000 worth of tools when he threw them over a fence in the garden center in an attempt to steal the items.
The man left in a black pickup truck. Store security officers noted that the man, described as having blond hair and a goatee and a rosary tattoo on his hand, has stolen items from the store in the past.
Assault: Schneider Court
A Lorain man was arrested for assault and criminal damaging at 6 a.m. Nov. 8 when police responded to a disturbance. The man reportedly rammed his vehicle intentionally into another vehicle during the altercation.
Driving under suspension: Interstate 90
A driver was arrested for driving under suspension and was arrested on an outstanding warrant following a traffic stop at 8:50 p.m. Nov. 5. His passenger was also arrested on a warrant.
