Homicide investigation underway in Augusta

Coroner: Body found in room at Motel 6 on Boyscout Rd.
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - The Richmond County Coroner's Office is investigating a body found in a motel room. According to the coroner's office, the body was found in a room of the Motel 6 on Boyscout Rd. The sheriff's office says the call came in just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, deputies found a man dead in one of the rooms.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) - The Richmond County Coroner's Office has released the name of the man killed in a crash on Deans Bridge Rd. Wednesday morning. The coroner's office has identified the victim as eighty-one-year-old Lewis Melson of Sylvania. Melson was taken to Augusta University Medical Center from the scene of the crash ad pronounced dead shortly before 10:30 a.m.

Man wanted for stalking, smashing woman's window in Hephzibah
RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) - The Richmond County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man wanted for stalking. According to the incident report, deputies responded to a home on Brothersville Rd for reports of a damaged window in the early morning hours of Jan. 28. The victim told deputies she woke up around 1:30 a.m. to the sound of her bedroom window being smashed. The victim says she checked her security cameras and saw fifty-one-year-old Lawrence Glover placing something on her car just before her window was broken.

Attorneys for family of boy mauled by dogs file complaint for damages
COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WFXG) - The family of a Columbia County boy attacked by dogs is suing the animals' owners. Attorneys for Ericka and Justin Gilstrap filed a complaint in Columbia County Superior Court Monday. Justin was attacked by three dogs while riding his bike near his home in early January.
