The University of Louisville volleyball team learned on Sunday night that it will be a No. 1 seed in this year's NCAA Tournament.
The Cardinals (26-2, 17-1) will host Samford in their first-round matchup on Friday at approximately 7 p.m. EST. The match will be played inside L&N Federal Credit Union Arena.
“It is so much of an advantage to play at home," said UofL senior middle blocker Amaya Tillman. “We sell out so quick here and even students have a hard time getting in. There will be 200-300 people just trying to get into L&N arena. Hopefully, we will just take care of business and we can play at the Yum Center if we advance to the Regional.”
The Cardinals ultimately earned the No. 2 overall seed in the tournament. The other three teams that are No. 1 seeds are Texas, Wisconsin and Stanford.
The winner of Friday's Louisville-Samford match will play the winner of Tennessee-Purdue on Saturday.
