Justin Tucker had a chance to give the Ravens a last-second win over the Jaguars and make NFL history in the process.

He came up short in his efforts to do so.

Tucker's 67-yard field goal attempt with two seconds left in the Baltimore vs. Jacksonville game was on the right line, but it came up just short.

Had Tucker made the kick, he would have broken his own record for the longest field goal in NFL history. He made a 66-yard kick to beat the Lions at Ford Field during the 2021 NFL season.

Tucker was naturally asked about the kick after Baltimore's 28-27 loss, and he admitted that he was disappointed he couldn't get a little more behind his kick.

The fact that we got there in the first place, with the completion to Josh [Oliver] on the sideline, the fact that we had a chance and I just didn’t deliver, it’s heartbreaking to me. It’s disappointing, especially when it’s a kick that I know I have the ability to make.

Tucker may have the ability to make a 67-yard kick, but it's certainly not easy. There's a reason that no kicker in NFL history has made a kick from that distance. And it's worth noting that even Tucker's kick from 66 yards barely squeaked over the bar in Detroit.

So, Tucker making a 67-yard kick was a tall ask. His kick was a good one, and it may have gone in from even just a few yards closer.

As such, Tucker really shouldn't blame himself for coming up short on a kick of that magnitude. He has still made 53 of 74 career kicks from beyond 50 yards, good for an excellent mark of 71.6 percent. from that distance.
