Lance Kerwin, who became a teen heartthrob as the titular star of the coming-of-age drama series "James at 16," died Tuesday. He was 62. In a Facebook post, his daughter Savanah Kerwin wrote, "I am so sorry to those we have not been able to reach out to personally to notify but Lance Kerwin passed away yesterday morning. We appreciate all the kind words, memories, and prayers that have been shared. As the coming weeks progress, I will share more information about after life ceremonies."

Girls Trip 2 Officially Confirmed, Plot and Cast Details Revealed at Sundance
Girls Trip 2 is officially happening. On Monday, Tracy Oliver, who co-wrote 2017's Girls Trip with Kenya Barris told Variety at the Sundance Film Festival that the sequel is happening and that they are looking at sending the film's characters to Ghana for the second film. According to Oliver, the sequel will see the return of original cast members Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish as they make their way to Afrochella, an annual music and arts festival held in the West African country in December. A script for the project has not yet been submitted.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Receives Five Oscar Nominations
2018's Black Panther opened the forbidden door between Marvel Studios and the Academy Awards, and 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is walking right through. The Ryan Coogler-directed sequel received a total of five Oscar nominations, including the first-ever acting nod for Marvel Studios in the form of Angela Bassett's best supporting actress nod. Beyond Bassett, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was nominated for best original song, best costume design, make-up & hairstyling, and best visual effects. These five nominations are down from its predecessor, as 2018's Black Panther received seven total nods four years ago.

Willow: Christian Slater Reveals He Reached Out To Val Kilmer After Taking the Role
Last year, Val Kilmer reprised his role as Tom "Iceman" Kazansky in Top Gun: Maverick but he was unable to do the same for Disney+'s Willow series. The actor played Madmartigen in the 1988 fantasy film of the same name, but after struggling with his health, filming the series during COVID was too risky and they ended up having to write the actor out of the show. However, Madmartigen's presence is felt in the series, and there are even some new characters that captured his spirit. In fact, one episode of the series features an appearance by Christian Slater who introduces himself as Madmartigan before revealing he is actually Allagash, a character who fought alongside Madmartigen in the Battle of Land's End. During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Slater spoke about reaching out to Kilmer after taking the role.

Marvel has the passage from the book, which includes interviews with stars Tom Holland, Zendaya , Benedict Cumberbatch, plus Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. When asked by the book about initially getting the call for the movie, Maguire had a touching reply about working with this fellow friendly neighborhood webslingers, but then also offered an anecdote teasing that he's open to returning to the MCU in some capacity in the future.

A play on the idea of Dinosaurs' time on Earth 65 million years ago, 65 sees Driver plays a future pilot named Millis, who crash lands on Earth, only to discover it's Earth in the age of the Dinosaurs. Things go from bad to worse when Millis finds another survivor of the crash named Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), and must somehow get them both to safety on an Earth that is essentially a harsh world of monsters.

Superman & Lois Casts The Walking Dead Veteran as Lex Luthor
Michael Cudlitz, the veteran character actor best known for his role as Abraham on The Walking Dead, has joined the DC multiverse. Cudlitz will play Lex Luthor in the upcoming third season of Superman & Lois, stepping in to give the show's new Earth a Lex of its very own. The CW previously had Jon Cryer playing the role of Lex on Supergirl and in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. When a casting call went out recently for the character, Cryer confirmed that nobody had approached him to continue on in the role. Last season, Superman & Lois surprised fans with the revelation that it does not take place on the same Earth as The Flash and Supergirl.

The Last of Us Episode 2 Breaks Massive Records for HBO
After having the second largest series premiere in over a decade for HBO, the second episode of The Last of Us is now breaking some major records. Last night's second episode, "Infected", brought in 5.7 million viewers across HBO and linear telecasts on Sunday night, a number that is up 22 percent from the series debut last week, per Nielsen and first party data. This is the largest week 2 audience growth for an HBO Original drama series in network history. Additionally, the series premiere now has 18 million viewers, which is up nearly four times from its premiere night audience.
