Berclair Boost Mobile burglarized

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are searching for suspects after responding to a business burglary call on November 25 at the Boost Mobile in the Berclair neighborhood.

MPD said the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on the 5000 block of Summer Ave.

Police posted a video of three people entering the store by breaking out the front window. Police said that once inside, they tried to open the safe but were unsuccessful.

Jasmin Hernandez, a Boost Mobile employee, said thankfully no one was at the store at the time.

“This happened early in the morning right before I even got to work so in a way I am I am like thankfully I wasn’t here but then again I am like why. these are little kids that would work that can do any little thing to get some extra money,” she said.

Hernandez said working in retail around the holidays can be dangerous.

“Every day I come to work I am like is this going to be the day,” she said.

She said on top of making sure customer’s needs are taken care of, you also have to be on the lookout for those with bad intentions.

“Usually you know when they are up to no good, cause they come in they are not really looking at you they are looking around they ask about the high-end phones and then you are like no so you got to work around that so we won’t get hurt,” Hernandez said.

MPD said that one suspect used a crowbar and another carried a pair of bolt cutters. No arrests have been made, but MPD said this is an active investigation.
