There were quite a few big games and major upsets during this Saturday’s college football action with the Michigan Wolverines blowing out the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Clemson Tigers falling to the South Carolina Gamecocks, the LSU Tigers falling to the Arkansas Razorbacks, and the USC Trojans beating the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. As a result, the AP Poll looks quite a bit different this week.
After the loss, Ohio State slipped from No. 2 to No. 5 with Michigan, the TCU Horned Frogs and the USC Trojans all moving past them after decisive victories. Alabama moved up to No. 6 with Tennessee ranked No. 7. Penn State, Washington, and Clemson round out the top-10 of the latest rankings. Meanwhile, the Georgia Bulldogs remain No. 1 in the latest version of the AP Poll.
It was a major shakeup at the top of the poll, and the college football world had a lot to say about it on Twitter on Sunday.

If this is the same as the playoff rankings , there is a better chance than not that OSU will be in the playoffs. https://t.co/QGUQwVsWT5

While these rankings are certainly an indication of how the college football world perceives teams as we head into conference championship weekend, Tuesday’s College Football Playoff rankings will show how the committee views the teams ahead of the final weekend of action before the playoff field is revealed on Sunday.
