OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man faces charges after initiating a physical altercation at an emergency scene earlier in the month.
Reports from Patrolman Todd Reiley indicate that on Friday, November 18, 2022, at approximately 12:55 am, Patrolman Reiley was on scene at a structure fire with the Oceana Fire Department when an altercation began between Rodney Walker and another male whose name has been redacted.
The victim, who according to reports did not engage in the altercation, was pushed into a fence post and struck with a closed fist by Mr. Walker.
The incident was witnessed and deescalated by another Wyoming County officer who was present.
Both individuals involved stated that the incident stemmed from an argument regarding the whereabouts of a female who is not reported to have been present at the scene at the time of the altercation at Lower Fords Trailer Park.
Mr. Walker was intoxicated at the time of the incident and was detained before eventually being arrested.
Rodney Walker faces charges of Battery in the wake of the incident.
