First rumored in late May 2022, the Air Jordan 13 “Playoffs” recently appeared in official images ahead of its re-release on Feb. 18. Fall 2022, for example, saw the resurrection of the Shaq Attaq, which — following the reappearance of an original colorway — has joined Reebok’s licensed collaborations with Street Fighter and DC Comics. Thankfully, the signature won’t be left behind in 2022, as it’s confirmed to be reissuing the “Black Azure” colorway.

Recently, the trail-inspired, partly-up-cycled sneaker appeared in a muted mix of navy and burgundy colors. The mesh and fuse construction across the upper sees the darker of the two colors take over the mudguard, while base layers keep things extra muted in black. Midsole components just above the revolutionary Air Max bubble enjoy a multi-color finish that sees recycled manufacturing floor scraps turn into cushioning. After the Nike Air Force 1 Low recently indulged in the EMB aesthetic with a wave of Laker influence, the Nike Dunk High now coordinates the retextured panels in a Black and “University Blue” ensemble.

While not as popular as its earlier Air Max counterparts, the Nike Air Max Plus 3 continues to produce a steady stream of releases for its cult-like following across the globe. Further rendering disparate concoctions of its synonymous gradient aesthetic, a red white and blue tonal connection to the United States now sets down across the revitalized silhouette.

Holiday 2023 is already exciting enough, as numerous Air Jordans — the Air Jordan 11 “DMP,” Air Jordan 4 “Olive Canvas,” and Air Jordan 1 “Satin Bred,” to name a few — are expected to release during the season. But as it turns out, that’s not all the Swoosh has up their sleeve: the LeBron 4 “Graffiti,” too, will be returning at the end of the year, helping commemorate the 20th Anniversary of LeBron James’ partnership with Nike.

The Nike Air Max 97 got a late start on 2023, with only a few colorways having surfaced this past January. But now that February has begun and Air Max Day a little over a month away, things will likely soon pick up for the silhouette, starting with this newly-revealed, Volt-accented pair.

Two years removed from its 35th anniversary, the Air Jordan 2’s revitalization has seen the Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore design collect a diverse array of disparate inline efforts that continue to push the silhouette into a new age of lifestyle wear.
