NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An off-duty NYPD officer was found dead at his home on Long Island, police sources told the New York Post.
The 44-year-old officer’s wife found him dead in their Suffolk County home Saturday, according to the sources.
A 16-year veteran of the NYPD, the officer’s death seems to be “accidental” with neither suicide nor homicide suspected, sources said of the preliminary indications.
The officer’s current assignment was to the Upper West Side in Manhattan.
