Watching the players enter the stadium is a fan ritual for more than one reason

New York Jets wide receiver Braxton Berrios is accustomed to having people take notice of his appearance.

After all, he’s been sporting bleached blond hair since re-signing with the team in the offseason.

As the Jets report to MetLife Stadium for their 1 p.m. ET tilt with the Chicago Bears, Berrios is once again turning some heads with a smart suit and turtleneck combination.

The Jets hope that a lot of schooling goes on in East Rutherford today—with the Green and White cast exclusively as the professors.

Justin Fields is not expected to take the field for the Bears today, as he is dealing with a separated shoulder (that has been diagnosed in several ways by different reports and Fields himself). Chicago has played coy about Fields’s status, but Nathan Peterman’s elevation from the practice squad pretty much seals that they’re not going to put their budding young star in harm’s way against the Jets’ ferocious defensive line.

Therefore, Chicago’s starter will likely be Trevor Siemian, a familiar foe for the Jets. Siemian was Sam Darnold’s backup when Darnold was sidelined with mono. He suffered a season-ending injury just a few plays into his first start against the Cleveland Browns, which led to the infamous Luke Falk game.

Either way, the Jets’ defense is certainly looking to give some lessons about coming into their stadium. Coming off a performance in which they allowed a measly three points, they’re looking for better tackling and fewer yards between the 20s.

However, it’s Berrios’s side of the ball that also has a chance to raise the grade this week. With Chicago’s 30th-ranked pass defense by DVOA down two starters in Jaquan Brisker and Kyler Gordon (out with concussions), the YAC monsters have their own chances. Mike White loves to dump the ball off, which should give Berrios and his fellow receivers some prime opportunities to make plays.

The way players come dressed to the stadium is the least of the team’s concerns, but it’s still fun to watch on Sunday morning in preparation for another game.
