Gunshot Victim Dies on Bike Path; 2 Possible Suspects in Custody

Whittier, Los Angeles County, CA: Whittier Police Department and the Los Angeles County Fire Department received a call at 12:13 a.m. Nov. 27, on East Lorene Street and Carley Avenue in the city of Whittier for a gunshot victim lying on a bike path behind some homes in a quiet neighborhood.

Firefighters received clearance from officers to safely enter the scene and start medical treatment on the victim.

After attempting to save the victim’s life, firefighters pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

One person was placed into handcuffs at the location but was not involved, per officers.

Around 1:15 a.m., Sunday, officers arrested two suspects who were possibly involved with the gunshot victim.

California Highway Patrol and Whittier Police officers located the two suspects hiding behind some bushes and took them both into custody.

Whittier Police Department is currently investigating the fatal shooting.
