A 61-year-old woman died in a hit-and-run Saturday night in Baltimore, according to the Baltimore Police Department.
Police said they responded to a report of a pedestrian being around hit 10 p.m. at I-83 South and E. Fayette Street.
When officers arrived to the scene, police said they found the woman who had been hit by the vehicle.
The victim was taken to Shock Trauma where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Through their preliminary investigation, police learned the 61-year-old was attempting to walk westbound in the southbound lane of I-83 when a dark colored SUV driving south on I-83 hit her.
The car fled from the area, police said, driving south on President Street.
