Best prop bets for New York Jets vs. Chicago Bears

The New York Jets are looking to get back into the win column after a disaster of a game in Week 11. New York will host the Chicago Bears at MetLife Stadium in what seems likely to be a wet and rainy game. Chicago has lost four straight and could be without starting quarterback Justin Fields as he nurses a shoulder injury.

Let’s take a look at two of the best prop bets for the Jets vs. Bears.

All odds via Caesars Sportsbook

Mike White passing yards: under 229 (-117)

I am not expecting Mike White to throw for 405 yards as he did against the Bengals last season. The Jets were losing for most of that game, including by two scores in the fourth quarter, forcing Mike LaFleur to throw that ball often. The Jets should be winning this game from start to finish, giving White fewer chances for his passing prop to go over.

The forecast for Sunday does not look promising. It should be raining pretty hard for most of the game on Sunday and making it more difficult for the Jets’ offense to throw the ball effectively.

The Jets should look to take advantage of this against a Chicago defense that is allowing the fourth-most rushing yards per game at 142.6. With Corey Davis and Nate Herbig being inserted back into the lineup, I anticipate New York coming out and trying to establish the run and limit their passing attempts.

The Jets’ rushing attack should push them to victory as White’s passing yards prop stays under.

Chicago Bears team total under: 16.5 points (-120)

This seems like a square-ish pick but I cannot see the Bears scoring much in this game. They will likely be without their two leading rushers in Justin Fields and Khalil Herbert. Coupled with the expected weather and the Bears’ injuries, I think this game will be very low scoring.

The Jets’ defense has been very strong all year and is the biggest reason they are sitting at 6-4. They can stop the run and pass making it difficult for opposing offenses. With Chicago being about as one-dimensional as you can get on offense, being number one in rushing offense and last in passing offense, the Jets’ defense should have no problem slowing them down.

Even if Trevor Siemian starts in place of Justin Fields, I expect the same results. In six starts last season with the New Orleans Saints, Siemian averaged only 192 yards per game with a 57.4 completion percentage.

Add in the weather and the Jets’ strong defense, and I expect the Bears to have trouble moving the football.
