November 27, 2022 - The San Bernardino County Sheriff reports on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to a stabbing at a residence in the 15100 block of Athol Street.  When deputies arrived, they located two victims who had been stabbed.  Vanessa Gonzalez and the second victim were transported to the hospital where Vanessa was pronounced deceased.  

Detectives from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation.  Detectives learned the suspect, identified as Alex Zamora, arrived at the location, and after an altercation at the home, stabbed both victims and fled the location.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 2:45 p.m., deputies with the Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division located Zamora at a residence in Riverside and took him into custody.  Zamora was arrested and booked in at the Central Detention Center.  He was later transferred to the West Valley Detention Center where he remains in custody without bail.
