Two Mountain Home Public School students are accused of making threats over the holiday period. Both unidentified students are currently in law-enforcement custody.

According to Mountain Home Superintendent Dr. Jake Long, the first threat occurred on Thanksgiving Day. The district was notified by the Mountain Home Police Department of a middle school student allegedly creating a hit list and sharing it along with a picture of a rifle. The situation was reportedly handled completely by the police department.

The second incident reportedly occurred on Black Friday. A student at Mountain Home High School Career Academies allegedly posted a picture on social media of himself holding two guns with a caption reading “School ready.” Dr. Long says school personnel were made aware of this post and immediately reported it to law enforcement.

In a statement released Saturday evening, Dr. Long says, “Parents, I would encourage you to have conversations about the seriousness of these types of actions. As a school system, we will continue to take any of this type of information, investigate it, and get to the bottom of it. Even though neither of these incidents happened in school, they will both result in serious consequences within our school system and, of course, within the legal system as well.”
