Punches were thrown during the Central Florida and South Florida game, commonly known as the “War on I-4,” as it appeared to be sparked by a late hit on a quarterback.

To try and keep emotions in check, the referee in the game described it as an “usual situation,” and gave every player on both teams an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

The Knights rang up a 28-0 lead with 7:20 remaining in the first half as former Ole Miss star John Rhys Plumlee collected 2 touchdown runs and a TD pass to start the game.

The Bulls, who came into the game 1-10 and dealt with the firing of former coach Jeff Scott, appeared to have a short fuse during the game.
