It hasn’t been the season that Tyler Van Dyke or Miami wanted this season, but both will now have the chance to close the regular season with a win and earn bowl eligibility.
Van Dyke will start against Pitt tonight, returning to the lineup after missing the last two games with injuries, CanesCountry’s Geo Millian reported.
Van Dyke led Miami to win over Pitt last season, a 38-34 triumph at what-was-then Heinz Field, as he threw for a then career-high 429 yards and three touchdowns. He was one of the most prolific quarterbacks in the ACC last season, but injuries and inconsistencies have held him back this season.
In eight games this season, Van Dyke has thrown for 1,752 yards with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions on 156-of-245 passing attempts. He’ll look to end his season on a high note against Pitt.
