Man arrested after road-rage shooting results in another man’s death on SE Side, police say

Donyell Moton, 46, is charged with murder and agg. assault with a deadly weapon

SAN ANTONIO – A man was arrested after he shot and killed a 70-year-old driver during an apparent road-rage incident on the Southeast Side, according to San Antonio police.

Donyell Moton, 46, was arrested shortly after the incident, which happened after 2:15 p.m. Saturday. Police were initially called to a Walmart parking lot in the 3300 block of SE Military Drive.

Officers arrived and found the 70-year-old man, Roberto Huron, critically injured in the driver’s seat of his vehicle with a gunshot wound. A woman was also inside of the vehicle but was uninjured.

Huron was taken to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to police.

SAPD said the shooting stemmed from a road-rage incident at the intersection of City Base Landing and Pvt Road in the 3300 block of SE Military Drive.

Both of the drivers were heading west on SE Military Drive when Moton pulled up behind Huron’s vehicle and tried to pass him, according to police.

However, Huron didn’t let Moton pass. Moton told police Huron was brake-checking him and was trying to run him off the road, according to SAPD.

The situation escalated when Moton pulled a gun and fired multiple shots at Huron’s vehicle.

Huron was struck by the gunfire once and lost control. His vehicle came to a stop in a Walmart parking lot, where police later found him.

Moton was arrested at the corner of SE Military Drive and Presa Street without incident.

He’s charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
