Will Kyler Murray Play in Week 12? (2022 Fantasy Football)

Kyler Murray had finished as a QB1 in seven of the nine games he played in before a hamstring injury forced him out of action for Weeks 10 and 11. Some believed he would be under center during last week’s tilt against San Francisco, but now he has his eyes set on the Chargers for a Week 12 matchup with high-scoring potential. Murray was trending well during practice, so the question is twofold: (1) Will Kyler Murray play in Week 12? and (2) Should fantasy managers trust him in their lineups? Here’s what we know.

Kyler Murray ‘ready to go’ for Week 12

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Friday that QB Kyler Murray “looked sharp” and is “ready to go” for Week 12.

Fantasy Impact

Murray has missed the Cardinals last two games with a hamstring injury, ushering QB Colt McCoy into the lineup. Murray may be good to go for Week 12 against the Chargers. Murray is an automatic start when healthy, and his return may come in conjunction with the return of WR Marquise Brown.

What the Experts Are Saying

Murray has practiced in full all week and doesn’t carry an injury designation into this game. In the three games Murray has played with Hopkins, he’s 20th in PFF passing grade, second in passing attempts, and tenth in adjusted completion rate (minimum 25 dropbacks). He finished as QB10, QB3, and QB8. Murray logged at least 30 rushing yards in each game. Since Week 6, the Chargers are 22nd in EPA per dropback, 22nd in explosive pass rate, and seventh in yards per attempt. Murray is a strong QB1 who could finish top five if this game shoots out.

Expect Kyler to play in Week 12. QBs don’t see much performance dip when returning from moderate hamstring issues, so expect Murray to be near full strength this week.
-Dr. Deepak Chona

Murray had scored 46 fantasy points in his 2 starts prior to hurting his hamstring and missing the last 2 games. If he is able to go this week, he would probably not have as much mobility as normal and be a QB2 against a Chargers D that is 14th against fantasy QBs.
