Xbox Game Pass Users are Obsessed with "Amazing" New Game
Yesterday's Xbox Bethesda Developer Direct had a handful of announcements, but the biggest was easily Hi-Fi Rush. Developer Tango Gameworks shocked fans with a colorful new game unlike anything it had released in the past. Even better, the game was made available shortly after the presentation on Xbox Game Pass and Steam, allowing players to try Hi-Fi Rush last night. While reviewers were not given the game ahead of time, player response has been overwhelmingly positive thus far. It remains to be seen whether players will continue to stick with the game, but it looks like Xbox has a big hit on its hands!

Star Wars Introduces a Power Older Than the Jedi
The Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic were allies in their efforts to bring order to the Star Wars galaxy for approximately 25,000 years. "Entombed" brings a different energy to The Bad Batch than what's typical for a Star Wars story. The episode finds the Batch between missions for Cid. Omega and Wrecker go looking for valuable scraps. While Tech doesn't recognize anything of value in their haul, Phee Genoa, Cid's treasure-hunting friend, does.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Finally Gets New Release Window
It has been a long time coming, but The Lord of the Rings: Gollum finally has a new launch window. Despite being announced all the way back in 2019 as one of the first games that would come to next-gen platforms, Gollum has seen countless delays. Most recently, the action-adventure title was slated to launch in the latter half of 2022, but it ended up getting delayed indefinitely. Since that time, developer Daedalic Entertainment hasn't said virtually anything else about the project, which has definitely raised some eyebrows. As luck would have it, though, we now have a new release window to go by.

New Xbox Summer Showcase Announced
Xbox is planning a big summer showcase for later this year. Xbox is one of the most interesting gaming companies out there because they have not been doing things that other platform holders are doing, for better or worse. They've focused on big services like Xbox Game Pass and instead of trying to compete with PlayStation for big cinematic, prestige games, they've opted to focus on more casual experiences with things like multiplayer and co-op at the forefront. Xbox has also gone out of its way to buy major publishers like Activision and Bethesda to help deepen its first-party offerings both for Xbox Game Pass, but as a platform as a whole. With that said, many were disappointed with the fact that 2022 had pretty much no major first-party releases on Xbox.

And while some fans have been hoping for a better pair of games to end the month, the Epic Games Store is instead handing out some forgettable titles.

Yu-Gi-Oh Cosplay Rules Over With Pharaoh Atem
Yu-Gi-Oh is still one of the most beloved manga, anime and game franchises of all time, and one awesome cosplay is helping to celebrate who kicked everything off by ruling over with Yugi Muto's Pharaoh Atem! Kazuki Takahashi's original manga series has launched a number of differing sequels and spin-offs since it first kicked off all those years ago, but there are many fans who still hold the original run of the franchise in high regard above everything else. It's hard to deny why because the Pharaoh's journey back then was quite the hook early on.

Major GTA Online Exploit Finally Addressed by Rockstar Games
Rockstar Games is finally addressing a major exploit in GTA Online. GTA Online has been going for almost 10 years strong at this point and while it has seen a level of success that very few other games ever have, it has also had its fair share of problems. On top of just general issues that games encounter, the PC version of the game has been a bit dangerous for years. It's prone to a lot more hackers than any other version of the game and has resulted in players being wrongfully banned due to all kinds of in-game manipulation, amongst many other things. It's a major problem and has pushed some players away from the PC version of the game.

The pair of would-be heroes got sucked into a case of investigating sabotage to Capsule Corp. tech – a scheme, it turned out, was being perpetrated by Dr. Hedo's zombie androids!

Twitch Viewers Will Be Able to "Snooze" Ads in 2023
Twitch is making a change in 2023 that'll hopefully make the streaming platform's ad system a bit more agreeable for viewers. The company announced this week plans to make it so that viewers can "snooze" the ads that roll during someone's stream which effectively means you don't have to watch an ad at a time you don't want to. That ad will presumably still come up later based on the language used in the announcement, so you'll watch it eventually, but it's at least a step in a better direction.

GTA Online Update Adds New Car, Lucrative Taxi Work Bonuses, and More
GTA Online has gotten a new update that gives players limited-time access to a new vehicle and a ton of lucrative bonuses. One of the hardest things about a live-service game is the dreaded grind. Some find it fun to put countless hours into something and be rewarded with in-game loot. Some just want to play the game without focusing too hard on getting the best stuff. This was a problem with GTA Online for a while, but Rockstar Games has been offering tons of ways to allow players to skip the grind and get right into the good stuff by offering all kinds of bonuses. Sometimes they'll even give you in-game money just for playing the game.

The Day Before Developer Denies Scam Allegations Following Delay
The Day Before developer Fntastic is denying allegations that the game is a scam and providing some further context for the recent delay. The Day Before is one of the most wishlisted games on Steam in recent memory, but it's also a very strange game. For a game with such a high level of hype, it is made by a studio that has made nothing of note in any way. However, the reveal for the game promised a big MMO where players would have to survive in a zombie-infested America, sort of looking like a cross between The Division and The Last of Us. It looked promising, but of course, gamers are skeptical because they've been burnt before.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Air Jordan 1 Shoes New Images
Jordan Brand and Marvel have revealed some new images of the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Air Jordan 1. These sneakers are being released right around the Sony animated movie's release date. @xcmade dropped some new photos of this pair and they're an absolute knockout. A classic black and red color way of the first Michael Jordan signature shoe serves as the canvas. But, near the top of the upper, things get a little bit interesting. The Ben-Day dots that comprise the red are zoomed in on and the material is accentuated by the lighter colors. Down near the midsole, there's some different textures at play as well. (Makes a lot of sense for the dimension-hopping premise of the movie.) Check out the images for yourself from Nice Kicks.
