SportsZone Saturday: Voice of the Herd; Pickleball grows in popularity; SDSU top seed in FCS postseason

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Jim Olander is a familiar voice to Sioux Falls Stampede fans.

In addition to play-by-play, the hockey veteran has worn a number of hats over the years with the Herd, and this season is celebrating a milestone.

A sport that has gained more popularity the past 10 years, especially in the Sioux Falls area, is pickleball.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits found out they will be the number one seed heading into the FCS postseason. The Jacks will play the winner of St. Francis (PA) and Delaware, but by the time that ball game is kicked off, it will have been nearly three full weeks without live football action for SDSU.

Those stories and more are featured on this week’s SportsZone Saturday. Keep up with the latest sports developments on the KELOLAND.com Sports page.
