Honda-GM Fuel Cell System In Hydrogen CR-V Will Be One Third Cost Of Clarity Sedan’s
The hydrogen fuel cell system Honda is developing with GM will costs one third as much as the equivalent powertrain in the older Clarity, Honda says. The new hydrogen system will be installed in the Ohio-built CR-V and goes on sale in Japan and North America in 2024. Unusually for a fuel cell vehicle, the hydrogen Honda SUV will also feature plug-in functionality for extra convenience. That sounds like a smart move given how patchy the hydrogen refuelling infrastructure is, and will still be a year from now.

Ferrari Sold 13,221 Cars Last Year And Profits Jumped By 13%
Ferrari’s profits jumped by 13 per cent in 2022, beating Wall Street expectations and Ferrari’s own guidance. The Italian car manufacturer earned €939 million ($1.022 billion) last year, the equivalent of €5.09 ($5.54) per share on revenue of €5.095 billion ($5.55 billion). Total revenue for the fourth quarter hit €1.386 billion ($1.51 billon), a healthy increase from the €1.172 billion ($1.28 billion) of Q4 2021 while earnings per share in Q4 also rose from €1.16 ($1.26) to €1.21 ($1.32).

Ford Posts $2 Billion Loss, Looks To Cut Costs In ‘Pivotal’ 2023
Ford doubled its EV sales last year, but that wasn’t enough to prevent the automaker from posting a $2 billion loss for 2022, the company’s figures reveal. “We should have done much better last year,” said Ford CEO, Jim Farley. “We left about $2 billion in profits on the table that were within our control, and we’re going to correct that with improved execution and performance.”

The 872-HP Polestar 5 Will Have An Advanced LiDAR System
The forthcoming all-electric Polestar 5 will feature an advanced LiDAR system as part of an expanded partnership with Luminar. Polestar says the expanded partnership will allow it to collaborate on the industrial design and integration of Luminar’s 3D laser scanning technology. Faulty Water Pumps Trigger Porsche Panamera, Bentley Continental Recall
More than 24,000 Porsche Panamera models and 650 Bentley Continental models are being recalled in the United States because of a water pump issue. Separate recall notices issued by Porsche and Bentley reveal that liquid can permeate through the pump housing into the electrical circuit board and connector. In the event of this happening, it could trigger a short circuit and may result in thermal damage to the external coolant pump. Damage done to the harness could also progress to the point where it triggers a vehicle fire.
