NFL Best Bets

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Cleveland Browns

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been playing much better lately than they did at the start of the season. They are winners of their last two games and had a bye in Week 11.

The Cleveland Browns’ defense has been terrible all season. They currently rank 29th in scoring defense at 26.9 points per game. Cleveland has given up 70 points in its last two games and I expect that to continue this week. Tom Brady’s offense always comes alive at the end of the season and especially after the bye week.

Lastly, I think the Browns are starting to mail it in until Deshaun Watson comes back next week. The Browns have lost six of their last seven games and have been blown out in a few. Cleveland is 3-7 and just about out of the strong Wild Card race in the AFC.

I anticipate the Buccaneers being able to win this one easily.

The Play: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -3.5

Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles

The last play of the weekend takes us to Lincoln Financial Field where the Philadelphia Eagles host the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.

Just like Minnesota last week, I think the Eagles fall into the overrated category. In the last two weeks, the Eagles have not been playing up to what their record says. Last week, the Eagles were down 10 points in the fourth quarter to a bad Colts team and probably should have lost outright.

I think that the Packers will be able to run the ball well this week. Aaron Jones has been quietly having a nice season as he is averaging 5.4 yards per carry on 143 attempts his season. The Eagles tried to beef up their defensive line with the in-season additions of Linval Joseph and Ndamukong Suh but I do not see that helping much in this game.

The Packers have not been playing great this season, but I think they find a way to keep this one close.

The play: Green Bay Packers +6.5
