A great exit for me would be for Janine to think Mick and Linda are dead following the car crash only for them to surprise her and turn up having called the police then a wild police chase occurs, like her previous exits.

Really disappointed her current stint is so short. Wish she would be around for another few years.

Yeah I agree. I think it’s fairly obvious that Charlie Brooks came back for the stability of work after covid. Now lock downs are no longer a thing of the future, she’s unsurprisingly moving on.

Have never seen her in anything else. Does she do mostly stage work?

What’s fairly obvious is that she had her stint extended and was originally back for a year…I say fairly obvious because that is what she said when she spoke about her exit

Shes been wasted, should never have come back unless there was a decent story for her. Using it as a stop gap until other work comes in is rubbish for viewers and damages the shows integrity.

Should be a privilege to be on EE not something you do till something better comes along.

She was in a Channel 5 drama with Freya from Neighbours right before her current EE return

It was called Lie With Me.

I didn't watch it, but saw it advertised a lot on C5 prior to its premiere.

I will never complain about having Janine back - for me her even at 30% of her best is streets ahead of most other characters - but it feels like this stint has never really got going properly and now she's off already. At least it looks like she's getting a memorable exit and she won't be killed off which is about as much as I can hope for!

Absolutely adore Charlie Brooks and very sad to see her time on EE coming to an end. I think it all went wrong when the entire focus for her being in Walford was to have the affair/future engagement with Mick. That, in and of itself, finally broke up Mick & Linda, made Janine into nearly a langweilige frau and put her into a category that fans just didn't take to. She is Janine, FFS. Capable of starting businesses, losing millions, sabotaging people who love her, and figuring out an exit that will greatly provide. But instead, she became a wimpering, drooling silly girl, telling lie after lie after lie for the sole purpose of sleeping with Mick. Not a good look for someone as efficiently-evil as she. I'll miss her.

She was on The One Show last night …looking really nice, she said she’s now doing a very long stage play for about 15 months. ( which is her 1st love)

Its not her fault if the show hires her😂

true, but the show must have pitched her something other than the Scarlett custody plot, and it seems unlikely they would of storylined the Mick stuff yet as that seems to have come about because Danny quit

I think Janine suffered from change of producer, Jon Senn would of known by the time Janine came back that he was leaving at the end of the year

I have mixed feelings. On the positive side, to me, she's still felt like Janine - they've not done anything to ruin her character. I've quite enjoyed the Mick plot and I'm hoping for a good climax to it in the next few weeks.

But it does sort of feel like she's not really got to know many people on the Square since coming back. She's sort of been in a bit of a bubble, mostly with people she already knew + the Carters. They could've done a lot more.

    Fingers crossed she'll be back.

Belatedly watching Thursday's episode it seemed to me that Mick actually seems to 'get' her; the first bloke who ever has (with the caveat that I stopped watching for a couple of years so missed the relationship that begat Scarlett). That prospect I find rather intriguing; that's she's finally met someone who will call her out when she misbehaves but understands why she does so and perhaps brings about a nicer, happier Janine than she's dared to be before.

It's just a shame that however much Mick loves her, what she did to Nancy and Linda will surely blow any chance of a happy ever after for the two of them out of the water, and that must surely have some bearing on the circumstances of her departure, if not Mick's as well.

(That said, however intrigued I am, that does not mean I'd want Dire to stay on...)

Yes but with a better plan for the character by the writers and commitment from the Actress.

Charlie was never staying long term and she’s already stated originally it was 12 month but was extended. I think she’ll find out mick cheated on her with Lindy and Janine being Janine she’ll plot her revenge which will end with mick dead and her going on the run. That would be a typical Janine exit.

Actually that's one thing that puzzles me. I don't think Mick really knows the real Janine at all. I think Michael was the man who "got" Janine.

We've not really seen any conversations that show that Mick understands what goes on in Janine's head. He seems to either ignore or be completely oblivious to her nasty side. When have they ever talked about what happened in her previous relationships? And the deaths?

Completely agree, does he know that Janine stabbed Michael? He’s never addressed it if he has.

The period from 2014-2021 was never addressed.

I think we should not to excited when it's announced that Janine is returning again in five years or so as this stint has been underwhelming to say the least.
