The Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association’s State Dance Championships are underway next week, with several area dancers scheduled to perform in the solo dance competitions.

Performances kick off on Wednesday, November 30 at the Iowa Events Center. Class 2 dance solos will take place in the HyVee Hall C, and includes Highland dancers Adeline Krotz at 11:26 a.m. and Kate Hartzler at 11:30.

Class 1 solos are scheduled to follow, and will feature performers from Lone Tree and WACO. Dancing for Lone Tree are Maddie Kleckner at 3:05 p.m. Maddie Floyd at 3:08, Bailee Gottschalk at 3:12, Hayden Yoder at 3:15, and Haiden Gauley at 3:19. WACO dancers include Zoey Dennler at 4:39, Lillian Keller at 4:42, and Gracie Cardeanas at 4:46.

Thursday, December 1 will showcase six Mid-Prairie dancers competing in the Class 6 solos. Hosted in HyVee Hall B, Grace Allred is slated to dance at 11:48 a.m. followed by Ariel Kaufman at 11:51, Drea McCain at 11:55, Emma Hendricks at 11:58, Meadow Flynn at 12:02, and Ireland McCain at 12:05.
