WIZM-AM marks 100 years on the air
Not many radio stations in the U.S. have been on the air for 100 years, but La Crosse has one of them. WIZM-AM has begun its second century of broadcasting, having signed on as WABN in January of 1923. The station at 1410 AM shortly changed its call letters to WKBH, and it was known by that name until 1971, when it became WIZM.

MTU bus drivers picket for raises at La Crosse bus station
They want “respect,” and a higher raise. La Crosse city bus drivers picketed for a pay increase on Monday outside the downtown MTU station. Transit union Local 519 president Todd Strasser says drivers are seeking a 4.5 per cent raise, compared to the city’s offer of 2.9 per cent. Strasser tells reporters it’s tough to find enough drivers to keep the buses rolling.

Court hearing on hidden camera charges against business owner Dinsmoor
A business owner from Onalaska pleads not guilty to charges resulting from allegedly secretly recording images of employees using a bathroom at their workplace. James B. (Brad) Dinsmoor appeared by Zoom in La Crosse County court on Friday, to face four felony charges of capturing an intimate representation without consent. Each charge carries a possible penalty of 3.5 years in prison, or fines up to $10,000.
