Police have charged 33-year-old Tysheen Ashby with the murder of another patient inside the Kingsboro Psychiatric Center.

Shakim Devega, 28, was declared dead in September after being found unconscious with severe trauma to his neck and chest.

The state's sex offender website shows Devega was convicted in 2019 of sexually abusing a 6-year-old boy. He was sentenced to 42 months in state prison and was staying at the outpatient center.
