ROANOKE, Va (WFXR) –The United Way and Hotel Roanoke are teaming up to do good this holiday season. They’ve officially kicked off their “Fashion for Evergreens” Christmas tree display and the competition is hot.
There are over 25 trees decorated by local organizations and people can cast a vote for their favorite tree by making a monetary donation to the united way.
Over the past decade, the United Way of the Roanoke Valley says the “Fashion for Evergreens” event has raised over $65,000 to help fund much-needed resources and programs in the community while raising people’s holiday spirit.
“When I came last time which was like last weekend, there were no decorations on the trees and it’s pretty to see all the decorations now,” said Brielle.
Brielle says she made sure to vote for her favorite tree. If you or your family wants to stop by and make a monetary donation to cast your vote the Hotel Roanoke says the best time to come check out the trees is between 8 am and 9 pm– the competition goes until New Year’s Day.
