Colder temperatures reached the borderland just in time for the holidays.
CBS4 on your side spoke with several people around town who were getting their Christmas shopping done or were just taking a walk around the park.
We found that El Pasoans either really liked the weather or they would prefer warmer days.
"The weather's amazing," said Hamed Al-Shafie, an El Paso resident.
"It’s cold and it’s rainy so it’s just like the worst combination," said El Pasoan Joseph Chavez.
El Pasoans experienced colder weather, but that did not stop some of them from going out of their warm homes.
"Colder than we expected but we still wanted to come out my husband loves cold weather and so I wanted to come out and get some shopping done get out of the house for a little bit," said holiday shopper, Desiray Correa.
"It’s like very good deals out here," said Al-Shafie.
Some shoppers said they would rather be doing something else.
I have kids so it’s kind of hard to come out here with them," said El Pasoan Noritza Aguilar, "I would rather stay home which we might just go home and do like cyber Monday shopping.
While many were out Christmas shopping, a couple from Denver visiting family in El Paso took their dog for a walk and were surprised by the borderland's weather.
"I was expecting 60 and sunny but I actually kind of like clouds and a little bit of moisture so this nice for me," said Wade Roberts.
"I was hoping it would be warmer. Being a native El Pasoan now living in Denver I like to go back for the holidays so of course to see my family but also to kind of thaw out a little from the colder Denver weather, but it’s not too terrible," said Lisa Martinez.
