The holiday shopping season is here and there are important deadlines you should know if you plan on sending gifts through the mail.

UPS, FedEx and the United States Postal Service have deadlines to ensure packages arrive by Christmas Day.
United States Postal Service
- Dec. 17 — Retail ground service
- Dec. 17 — First-class mail
- Dec. 19 — Priority mail service
- Dec. 22 — Priority mail express service
FedEx
- Dec. 8 — FedEx ground economy
- Dec. 14 — FedEx home delivery, FedEx ground
- Dec. 20 — FedEx express saver, FedEx 3Day freight
- Dec. 21— FedEx 2Day
- Dec. 22 — FedEx 1Day freight, FedEx extra hours
- Dec. 23 — FedEx SameDay
UPS
- UPS Ground: Check the UPS website
- Dec. 20 — UPS 3-day select
- Dec. 21 — UPS 2nd day air
- Dec. 22 — UPS Next day air
Different deadlines will apply if you're mailing packages out of the country or to Alaska or Hawaii.
