Fantasy Football Week 12 Rankings: Projections and Matchups to Love

Jake Rill

Thanksgiving Day brought a trio of great NFL games. But there's still plenty more to come in Week 12. So if you're trailing in your fantasy football matchup, things could still swing the other way.

There are 12 meetings on Sunday's slate, followed by a Monday night matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts. And there are sure to be a lot of noteworthy fantasy performances.

Here are positional rankings for the remaining Week 12 games, along with top matchups to watch.

Quarterback

1. Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes (vs. LAR)

2. Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (vs. GB)

3. Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow (at TEN)

4. Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert (at ARI)

5. Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (vs. HOU)

6. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (at JAX)

7. Seattle Seahawks QB Geno Smith (vs. LV)

8. San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (vs. NO)

9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady (at CLE)

10. Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr (at SEA)

Matchup to Watch: Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert (at ARI)

The Chargers' receiving corps has been banged up for much of the season. However, Herbert should have success moving the ball through the air no matter who he's throwing to in Sunday's game.

Not only are the Cardinals giving up the sixth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season, per NFL.com, but they allowed Garoppolo to throw four touchdown passes against them in Week 11. That was the first time Garoppolo had more than two TD passes in a game this year.

Herbert is an even better quarterback, but he's still looking for his first three-touchdown game since Week 2. This matchup should give him an opportunity to reach that mark.

Running Back

1. Los Angeles Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (at ARI)

2. Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry (vs. CIN)

3. San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (vs. NO)

4. Indianapolis Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (vs. PIT)

5. Seattle Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker III (vs. LV)

6. Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (at SEA)

7. Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (vs. TB)

8. Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones (at PHI)

9. Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (vs. BAL)

10. Miami Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson Jr. (vs. HOU)

Matchup to Watch: Miami Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson Jr. (vs. HOU)

In Wilson's second game after getting traded from San Francisco to Miami, he ran for 119 yards and a touchdown in a Week 10 win over Cleveland. Now, the 27-year-old running back is fresh off a bye and gets to face the worst run defense in the NFL.

The Texans are allowing a league-high 178.9 rushing yards per game and giving up the most fantasy points per game to running backs, per NFL.com. The Dolphins have a strong passing attack, but they may keep the ball on the ground a good bit in a game they should handily win on Sunday.

So Wilson and Raheem Mostert should both have solid showings and could be strong fantasy performers. However, Wilson has the higher ceiling and should end up among the top RBs of the week.

Wide Receiver

1. Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (vs. HOU)

2. Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (at SEA)

3. Philadelphia Eagles WR A.J. Brown (vs. GB)

4. Cincinnati Bengals WR Tee Higgins (at TEN)

5. Miami Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (vs. HOU)

6. Arizona Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins (vs. LAC)

7. Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (vs. ATL)

8. Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (vs. TB)

9. San Francisco 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (vs. NO)

10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans (at CLE)

Matchup to Watch: Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (vs. ATL)

Since Taylor Heinicke took over as Washington's quarterback, McLaurin has been getting the ball in his hands a lot more. He's had five or more catches in four of his past five games, and he's recorded more than 100 yards twice during that span.

The Commanders are rolling, so they should have another strong showing on Sunday against the Falcons. It's also a great matchup for McLaurin, as Atlanta is giving up the second-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers, per NFL.com.

McLaurin hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 7, so he's due to get into the end zone. It wouldn't be surprising if he did so against a beatable Falcons secondary.

Tight End

1. Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (vs. LAR)

2. Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews (at JAX)

3. San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (vs. NO)

4. Pittsburgh Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth (at IND)

5. Los Angeles Rams TE Tyler Higbee (at KC)

6. Las Vegas Raiders TE Foster Moreau (at SEA)

7. Chicago Bears TE Cole Kmet (at NYJ)

8. Denver Broncos TE Greg Dulcich (at CAR)

9. Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku (vs. TB)

10. Jacksonville Jaguars TE Evan Engram (vs. BAL)

Matchup to Watch: Las Vegas Raiders TE Foster Moreau (at SEA)

Moreau continues to fill in for the injured Darren Waller, and he's had some solid showings. His best came in Week 10, when he had three catches for 43 yards and a touchdown (his first of the season) in a loss to the Colts.

Sunday's game should provide another opportunity for Moreau to perform well. The Raiders are going on the road to face the Seahawks, who are allowing the second-most fantasy points per game to tight ends, per NFL.com.

Don't be surprised if Moreau gets back in the end zone this week. It should be a competitive game that will likely require both sides to pass the ball throughout.
