WORCESTER ― Those who were close with Randy Adonoo, the city man who died in a car crash Monday in Bolton, could feel confident that, no matter the hour, their friend would be there to support them as soon as they needed him.

Leticia Adriana Flores, who met Adonoo at Quinsigamond Community College while they were both students there, was among the many friends and loved ones who took to social media to honor him.

"He was ... always willing to do anything. You could call him anytime. You're like, 'What are you doing?' and he's like, 'Well, what do you want to do?' And so ... he was just always super, super friendly," Flores said.

The two met in a common area at the school and quickly bonded over shared interests, like listening to Travis Scott, helping them develop a friendship that would extend beyond their time at the community college.

Like other people in his life, Flores said she was drawn to Adonoo because of his "smile and energy." He had the ability, she said, to draw people in and create a welcoming environment.

According to his Facebook page, Adonoo, 31, worked at AT&T. Flores said he was hardworking and took his job seriously, which helped him "work his way up the ladder."

When he wasn't working, he was usually a phone call away, she said. He could often be found dancing and making the people around him laugh.

"He was just always somebody that you wanted to be around. People would want to gravitate towards him because of his personality," Flores said. "He was just somebody that it was a pleasure to get to know ‒ if you didn't get to know Randy, you missed out."

According to state police, the preliminary investigation showed that the driver of a Toyota Camry lost control of her vehicle and cut into another travel line on the northbound side of Interstate 495, near the Route 117 exit. The Camry struck a Lexus driven by Adonoo. The Lexus swerved into the median and overturned.

The driver of the Camry was a 30-year-old Chicopee resident. Her vehicle also overturned, police said. Authorities did not detail the extent of her injuries.

On Friday, the state police said the crash remained under investigation.

A GoFundMe has been created for Adonoo by family and friends to raise money for funeral expenses and a memorial fund in his name.
