An 18-year-old man was shot in New Haven on Thanksgiving, police said.
Police responded about 11:34 a.m. Thursday to reports of a person shot on Read Street between Newhall Street and Sheppard Street, according to the New Haven Police Department.
Officers found an 18-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken by ambulance to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition as of Friday, police said.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit were leading the investigation and ballistic evidence was recovered from the scene, police said.
