Black Friday shoppers flock to Jackson stores

JACKSON, Tenn. — Black Friday kicked off in the Hub City, bringing long lines and insane prices!

“I’m here Black Friday shopping. Got my caffeine ready to go for the day. Just enjoy it and see what kind of deals we can get,” Shane Vaczy, a Black Friday shopper.

“Just whatever pops to mind, like clothes and shoes,” said Mary Jo Hurst.

April Griffin and her mom, Pam, come out every year. They say they will continue to come out each year.

“We have done it for years. In fact, years ago we used to leave after the Thanksgiving meal and sit in line outside,” said April and Pam Griffin.

But the duo says they still wake up early enough to get to the stores right when they open.

“We wanted to go to the Christian bookstore because they have a lot of good books, a lot of plaques for sale. We just wanted to come here to look. Target is just some place you always want to go, just walk around,” said April and Pam Griffin.

Braving the long lines, Alex Sauceda says he came prepared this year with his list.

“I am dead set on the Xbox S. Really in the mood for that. New work boots. I came out for a purpose. One of those jackets that you press the little button on, they are electric. I want one of those bad,” Sauceda said.

And he says even as a kid he didn’t want to miss out on the Black Friday experience.

“For many, many years now. I would always go out with my brothers and if mom said no, I would sneak and I would find a way,” Sauceda said.

Black Friday sales will continue through the end of Friday.

Saturday there will be sales for Small Business Saturday, and there will be online sales for Cyber Monday.
