Four rescued from roller coaster at Sacramento area Scandia Fun Center
Four teenagers had to be rescued this week when their car got stuck on a roller coaster at Scandia Fun Center in Sacramento County.
First responders received a call for help shortly after 6:45 p.m. Monday. When firefighters arrived at the amusement park in North Highlands, they located four teenage girls trapped on the Crazy Dane Coaster about 65 feet in the air.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District firefighters used an aerial ladder truck to safely retrieve the girls. No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to KCRA, the girls were celebrating a birthday and were given “treats and tickets to return to the amusement center later” as compensation for their hour stuck on the ride. It’s not clear what caused the ride to malfunction.
Scandia Fun Center has mini golf, a number of county fair-type amusment park rides and a kids’ raceway, among other attractions. The park made national headlines in 2007 when it instituted a “no screaming” rule on one of its thrill rides after too many locals living in an adjacent suburb complained.
“As passengers are strapped into the two metal baskets, the operator recites this warning: ‘We are required to remove you from this ride if you make any noise. If you feel you might make a noise, please cover your mouth tightly with you hand, like this,’” the Associated Press reported. “The operator then covers her mouth with her hand. ‘If we hear any noise through your hand, we will remove you from the ride. So please remain silent and enjoy the Screamer.’”
