Three Florida Senators Tee Up 2024 Bids

Three newly elected members of the Florida Senate are preparing to run again in 2024.

Three newly elected members of the Florida Senate are preparing to run again in 2024.

Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, R-Spring Hill, Sen. Erin Grall, R-Vero Beach, and Sen. Jonathan Martin, R-Fort Myers, opened campaign accounts this week as first steps in seeking re-election, according to the state Division of Elections website.

Ingoglia was elected Nov. 8 in Senate District 11 in Citrus, Hernando, Sumter and Pasco counties, while Martin was elected in Lee County’s District 33. Grall, a former House member, ran unopposed in Senate District 29 in Glades, Highlands, Indian River, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie counties.

Ordinarily, senators serve four-year terms, but many of the senators elected this year will have to run again in 2024 because of the once-a-decade reapportionment process.

Other senators who have opened campaign accounts for 2024 races are Zephyrhills Republican Danny Burgess, Wauchula Republican Ben Albritton, Stuart Republican Gayle Harrell, and Miami Springs Republican Bryan Avila, according to the Division of Elections website.
