(Sidney, IA) Fremont County is joining a traffic safety project. Five rural Iowa counties are participating in the High Five Rural Traffic Safety Project. The goal is to promote safe practices, such as seatbelt use. The Iowa Department of Public Safety says 72 percent of fatal crashes in 2021 were on secondary rural roads.
