Runners are gathering in downtown Dallas for this morning's annual YMCA Turkey Trot run.

For the 55th year, runners will get a jump start on the holiday by burning off a few calories before sitting down to their Thanksgiving meal.

There are two official start times at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. The eight-mile route starts on Young Street near Dallas City Hall and winds through downtown, into North Oak Cliff and then back to City Hall Plaza.

There are road closures to keep aware of. Young Street will be closed between Griffin and Harwood from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. Streets along the route will close approximately 15 minutes before the first runner and will reopen as the last runner passes through.
