Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
A Peekskill man is facing charges of attempted murder in connection to a shooting earlier this month. Police say Dimitri Jones, 19, shot a 31-year-old Peekskill man on Central Avenue, near Washington Street, on Nov. 9. The victim sustained a gunshot to the upper leg. A loaded firearm was found in a nearby area. Police believe the victim and suspect knew each other and this was not a random incident.
A Suffern man has been arrested for driving drunk with a child in the backseat, according to state police. Troopers say Matthew Moskowitz, 26, was traveling southbound on I-87 when he veered off and struck a concrete barrier on the shoulder last Friday in the town of Woodbury. Neither Moskowitz or his 12-year-old passenger were injured in the crash. Moskowitz was taken into custody at the scene and the child was released to a guardian.
