DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR)– The Danville Sheriff’s Office says a man was found without a pulse in a holding cell at the Danville City Jail on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Deputies say 31-year-old Anthony Lee Wyatt of Danville was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at approximately 2:44 p.m. for public intoxication. Deputies say around 5:26 p.m. a supervisor noticed Wyatt laying on the holding cell floor motionless.
According to a press release, deputies entered the cell to check Wyatt’s vitals. They say Wyatt didn’t have a pulse and deputies were called. The release states, deputies and medical staff continued working on Wyatt until the Danville Life Saving Crew arrived.
Wyatt was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Danville Police Department is investigating the incident.
