More than 100 animals found dead at Iowa farm

(ABC 6 News) – More than 100 animals were found dead on an Iowa farm, according to the Iowa Farm Sanctuary (IFS).

In a social media post on Tuesday, the IFS said they received a report of a deceased lamb on a property approximately 40 miles from their location in Oxford, Iowa.

Upon arrival to the property with a sheriff’s deputy, the IFS says they found starving sheep, goats, and pigs living in “deplorable conditions” and among other dead animals. The organization said “over 100 animals and many more are deceased.”

The IFS said the animals had no access to adequate food, water, or shelter.

Local law enforcement was able to secure a search warrant for the property so the IFS and the Animal Rescue League of Iowa could start rescuing the surviving animals.

No information about the property or owners has been given.
