Man charged with aggravated assault in connection to shooting in Canutillo

UPDATE: On November 23rd, 2022, through the course of the investigation the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit identified 22-year-old Andre Bryce Gilmer as one of the persons responsible for the shooting.

Gilmer was taken into custody and charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Gilmer was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility with a total bond of $800,000.

The investigation is ongoing and no other information is available at this time.

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – One person has been transported to the hospital after a shooting in Canutillo, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.

The incident happened along the 7100 block of 3rd Street. The Sheriff’s Office sent out a notice to media about the shooting shortly before 9 p.m. It is not clear when the incident happened.

The Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit will take the lead in the investigation.

No details on the person’s condition or what led up to the shooting have been released.
